JB Aviation, in partnership with McHenry County College (MCC), is excited to announce the launch of a fast-track pilot program. The Professional Aeronautics Certificate (PAC) program is now open for enrollment with classes officially starting August 2025.
The PAC program is an accelerated pathway tailored for career pilot focused students. The part-time program is flexible to accommodate new and returning college students, as well as local high school seniors with modified schedules. This innovative program will provide a weekly classroom course at MCC’s Catalyst Campus in Woodstock, combined with flight training at JB Aviation.
The program trains commercial pilots in just 16 months with no prior experience required. It provides the essential knowledge and experience needed for students to obtain the FAA certifications necessary to become successful professional pilots. The curriculum includes private-pilot certification, instrument rating, commercial pilot certification, and (optional) flight instructor certifications. Each week, students will engage in approximately 15-20 hours of training, including classroom instruction, flight training, and after-class assignments.
MCC and JB Aviation will be holding an open house on May 15th for the public to learn more about the new partnership and we will be hosting an informative Safety Seminar discussing the evolving aviation job market.
